Ravelry did NOT kill MagKnits

RAVELRY DID NOT KILL MAG KNITS!!! Say it with me…………Ravelry did NOT kill Mag Knits!
I have stated in earlier posts about the millions of things going on here, but it has not left me clueless to what has happened in Ravelry(land) and all the he/she said that has been going on with Mag Knits.
I have NOT ordered anything from this person that owns said Mag Knits, but I have learned many lessons from her. The first being…….NEVER start a business. It leaves you open for too much scrutiny (for one thing) and apparently causes problems with emails, the post office, and hate mail. NO THANK YOU! I don’t want any part of that!
everyone says/does things that when looking back upon wish you had decided to do differently & maybe the owner of said site/business has a lax in judgement by deleting their web site without prior knowledge or warning. (I’ve had the misfortune of deciding to do something without warning others & that TURNED into a nightmare & looking back on it I realize I handled it poorly)
I like to give this owner the benefit of the doubt. And it makes me scared to order anything online after what I’ve read about some owners business practices. *like I ever have money…but you get where I’m coming from*
I just wanted it known that Ravelry didn’t kill Mag Knits. There is no way that our community destroyed a website. Did some people develop a ‘mob mentalitiy’ I don’t know. According to the owner of Mag Knits she was getting some terrible emails…but to say that Ravelry members in themselves did anything to bring this about is utter nonsense.
I have been at Ravelry since Septemeber (I believe) and I have only had very few contacts that turned out to be not so great. In a whole, Ravelry is a great site. It has a great couple that set it up & they work really hard to make it fantastic (muah to Casey & Jessica!) I have NEVER seen spam there, or anything that isn’t ‘fit’ for family view. I’ve seen great discussions without witch hunts or flaming. I’ve seen great works, and I have made a few true blue friends that I consider dear already (love you to all!)
I have NEVER been apart of a better group (outside of Barbara’s Blessings) that openly accept you as you are & never ask twice.
to even think that Ravelry killed Mag Knits is insulting to everyone there. It’s not like we as a group decided to pick on a business until they decided to quit. I infact only replied that “I like pop tarts & I didn’t order from them”.
I had a few things that I liked about Mag Knits, and I will miss them on occassion. I did look a lot at the site for the patterns, but that was all. It’s sad that this owner decided to stop her business, for whatever reason……but the owner was not run out of Ravelry town on a rail. It was something they decided, and something that Raverly shouldn’t even be thought of as the big bad Ravelry wolf.
